Put On Your Thinking Cap
Meet Arodi - a young boy from the Democratic Republic of Congo with a big dream of becoming a journalist. Despite growing up in difficult circumstances, Arodi has always been fascinated with storytelling and the power of words to connect people from different walks of life. He sees journalism as a way to share the stories of his community and bring attention to the challenges they face.
But Arodi's dream of becoming a journalist is not without obstacles. In his community, access to education and opportunities is limited, and many young people like him are forced to give up their dreams due to financial constraints.
With your support, Arodi can receive the education and training he needs to become a skilled journalist and tell the stories of his community to the world. By donating to Malembe Rise DRC, you can help provide Arodi and other young people in the Congo with access to education and the resources they need to chase their dreams. Your support can make a difference in his life and in the lives of many other young people like him.
Breaking the Stigma: Club of Leaders encourages open dialogue on toilets and hygiene.
The Club of Leaders students have taken on a critical research project to address the urgent need for better toilets and proper hygiene in their community. Their project will involve a multi-step approach that draws on their 21st century skills and will make a significant impact in raising awareness about these important issues.
In the first step of their research project, the Club of Leaders students will go into the community to make critical observations. They will observe and document the conditions of the current toilet facilities and the hygiene practices of community members. By doing so, they will gain a deeper understanding of the issues and identify areas for improvement. Through their observations, they will gather valuable data and insights that will inform their subsequent research and action steps.
Next, the students will take a proactive approach and engage in door-to-door visits to start conversations about these sometimes taboo topics. They will work hard to remove the stigma associated with discussing these issues and build trust with their neighbors, encouraging them to consider adopting better hygiene practices and supporting efforts to build better toilets.
Throughout their research project, the Club of Leaders students will demonstrate the importance of reflective thinking and observation. By reflecting on their conversations with community members and observing the impact of their awareness campaign, they will be able to gain actionable insights and develop new strategies for raising awareness and promoting healthy living.
By leveraging their 21st century skills and taking a proactive, community-centered approach, they are paving the way for a brighter, healthier future for all.
